Course Description

  • Live Oak: Par 5, 395-501 Yards

            This starting hole shows its teeth not necessarily in its length, but in its tight fairway and glaring out-of-bounds.

            The smart play off the tee box is a power fade into the right to left sloping fairway. Long hitters can reach the green in two, but only if they avoid the OB that lines the length of left side of the fairway and the trees that pinch the right side of the landing areas.

            The small green is guarded by trees and a small sand bunker on the front right. The green slopes from back to front and slightly back right to front left. Don’t give away too much of the hole from any distance.

  • Pampas Grass: Par 4, 288-338 Yards

            This hole calls for a draw off the box. Hit anything more than a slight fade and your ball might disappear in the natural area to the right.

            Not a long hole, but a bunker front left and a pair of big oaks front right calls for a fairly precise second shot into the elevated green.

            Beware if the pin is front right. Anything landing below the hole will roll off the green.

  • The Bridges: Par 3, 142-183 Yards

            This hole plays longer for the first nine than it does for the second nine. But no matter which nine, this par-3 has more fangs than teeth.

            As Number three, the hole is plain long and usually into the wind. Take at least one extra club. As number 12, the tee shot must clear water then avoid trees on the left and right.

            The green is guarded by a bunker on the left and trees from the back center to the front right. Par is a big win on this hole.

  • Boomerang: Par 4, 309-403 Yards

            Boomerang! That would be a good description for this hole because its layout is similar, but with a less severe angle. The ideal tee shot is a BIG draw around the trees lining the inside of the boomerang.

            Your second shot is all up hill to one of our bigger greens that noticeably slopes back to front. Anything landing front-right will almost certainly fall off the dance floor.

            Your best shot at birdie or par is either hit it close, real close, or leave your shot into the green below the hole.

  • Crane: #5 & #14, Par 3, 136-181 Yards

           Don’t let the simple look of this hole fool you. Number 5/14 has a secret weapon.

            The tee shot really is as simple as it looks. The only hazards are the bunker to the left and a wetlands area guarding the front. Miss both, land or the green and you’re on easy street. NOT SO FAST!

            The secret weapon on this hole is its sneaky, super-subtle challenging green. It looks flat, but if your putt is six feet or longer you can bet on a birdie or par busting double or triple break.

  • Round Buster: #6 & #15, Par 4, 350-447 Yards

            The number one handicap hole and for good reason. Besides its length, out-of-bounds runs down the left side from tee to green on number 6/15.

            Flair your ball to the right and you’re blocked out by trees. Hit your ball long into the green and the flag is about seven feet above your head.

            The optical illusion on the green makes for a fun twist at the end. Bogey is good on this hole.

  • Twin Pines: Par 5, 394-487 Yards

            You can make up a stroke or maybe two on this short Par five. The uphill tee shot looks tight, but the fairway opens up at the top of the hill.

            Long hitters can reach the green in two. Shorter players can lay up for a fairly easy shot into one of our bigger greens. A bunker on the front left and trees can get in your way, but neither is a round buster.

            The big green rolls true from back to front.

  • Ocotillo:Par 5, 394-487 Yards

            The layout of #8/17 comes with a couple options off the tee. The safe play is hit to the dogleg, lay up before the water and then go for the green. Long hitters can try to cut the corner. Any tee shot that slightly slices usually goes OB, which runs all along the right side.

            The green is elevated and slopes from back to front. Pin placement front-left is always a knee knocker.

  • Waterloo-Par 3, 129-177 Yards

            Water in front of the tee box is always a little intimidating and this proves true for our finishing hole.

            The hole isn’t especially long, but it’s all up hill and usually into the wind. Bunkers on the left and right are in play. The green has a false front. Take an extra club to carry.

            Once on the putting service, the green slopes eno make any side hill putt a tough read.
